Energy storage solutions

Mutant is a battery engineering and services company providing battery and energy storage solutions to accelerate the global transition to renewable energy.

  1. 01.

    Background

We apply engineering discipline to every energy storage project. Mutant’s team brings decades of experience in battery science, plant engineering and project delivery, and we apply that practical knowledge to systems of every size, from a single facility’s backup battery to power grid solutions for utilities and developers. We source to each project’s requirements and deliver the system installed, commissioned and supported.

    Mission

Applying American ingenuity to accelerate the global transition to renewable energy with solutions that feature both flexibility and efficiency.

  3. 03.

    Vision

A future in which renewable energy is an intrinsic part of the social fabric, and clean energy costs less than the systems it replaces.

Flag of the United States

Building America’s energy independence

Energy that is generated, stored and used close to home makes the grid more secure and less dependent on distant supply. Every battery system we deliver adds capacity to a more decentralized, more resilient American grid.

Storage can carry selected critical loads through an outage, eases the strain on the grid at peak hours, and helps make full use of the wind and solar power generated here. Through our SDVOSB partner, we bring that capability to federal, state and municipal facilities as well as to private businesses.

Federal policy

Federal Consortium for Advanced Batteries

The Federal Consortium for Advanced Batteries (FCAB) brings together federal agencies to build a secure domestic supply chain for lithium batteries. Its National Blueprint for Lithium Batteries sets out goals for 2030 that include economic competitiveness, job creation, decarbonization and national security.

How our work relates
Mutant Energy is not affiliated with FCAB or the U.S. Department of Energy. The Blueprint’s goals depend on advanced batteries being put to work across the economy, and that is the work we do: helping American businesses, utilities and public agencies choose, finance and deploy battery storage.
